“A landscape that hasn’t changed since childhood”

A small fishing town surrounded by mountains. Tomihide Tani lives here with his family, a pair of goats and a flock of chickens. He grew up here, and when in high school, he only thought about leaving for the big city. It is when he returned to become a nursery school teacher that he realized the beauty of the Kunisaki Peninsula. The unique shape of the ridges show that the circular peninsula surrounded by the sea is actually a body of rock. As he started to capture this landscape, the smiles of his children, and the local Oni festivals, the appreciation he received led him on to become the photographer that he is today. The peninsula is an ongoing source of inspiration.
